5.5 Apply a thin coat of C-Cement to the entire scuffed area of the
cable. After the cement becomes tacky, apply sealing tape interference collars on each side,
1½ inches from the outer edge of the opening, Cover with two half-lapped wraps of DR tape,
white side out.
5.6 Place seven sempics in the cable core as illustrated.
If difficulty is encountered, work the sempic into the cable core along side an additional
sempic or orange stick to penetrate the core. Never pound these in with a
hammer or other tool. Note: Trim leaving 1/2 inch of sempic protruding from
each side of the cable core. |
5.7 Place the top plates of the bond clamps over the
studs followed by the braid with the web insulator and ferrules in place. With a pointed object, make sure a hole
in the braid through the ferrule and place on the studs. Finally, secure in place with nuts.
5.8 For external bonding or for insulating joints, use the SV-72
Plugging Kit. Attach bonding ribbon over studs at each end and secure with nuts, Place a small
piece of sealant tape under bond ribbon at location where B-tape collars will be located.
